Which ticket is right for you

Reseller prices are refreshed daily; the final price is the one on the partner's site. Resellers cost more than the official ticket because they add availability, free cancellation or services.

What €15 gets you

The standard €15 ticket opens the Appartamento di Etichetta, the state rooms on the main floor, plus the Museo della Fabbrica, the Caruso Museum and any temporary exhibitions. The €2 reduced rate is for EU citizens aged 18 to 25; non-EU visitors of the same age pay full price. Under-18s of any nationality go free.

The useful part: the date on a Royal Palace ticket doesn't matter. Buy it online for Tuesday, use it Thursday. There are no time slots. The museum asks visitors to buy only through official channels: the Musei Italiani website and app, or the ticket desk and machines on site.

Official ticket or reseller

The official ticket is flexible and cheap, so a reseller "skip-the-line" entry adds little beyond convenience. What resellers do add is commentary: GetYourGuide and Headout sell entry with a digital audio guide, and Tiqets, GetYourGuide and Headout all run guided tours of the palace and the surrounding monumental area, some in small groups. Without context, one gilded room blurs into the next.

Hours and free days

Royal Apartments 9am–8pm (last entry 7pm); Museo della Fabbrica until 7pm; Caruso Museum mornings only, 9am–2pm. Closed Wednesdays, 1 January and 25 December. Some rooms close now and then for restoration, so the museum suggests checking at the ticket desk before you pay.

Entry is free for everyone on the first Sunday of the month and on 4 November.

Getting there and access

The entrance is at Piazza del Plebiscito 1. One entrance to the Bourbon Tunnel (Galleria Borbonica), on Vico del Grottone, is about 100 m from the square, so the two pair well on a weekend. The palace is step-free inside: lifts reach the main floor and the Hanging Garden, and there are no level changes between rooms. Wheelchairs can be borrowed at the Sala DAI.
