Turin tickets: museums & attractions

Egyptian Museum, Mole Antonelliana, Palace of Venaria and the Torino+Piemonte Card

In Turin, the one museum where you can be turned away without a booking is the Egyptian Museum, which sells timed tickets online only. The Mole Antonelliana and the Palace of Venaria don't require booking but recommend it, especially at weekends. Watch the closing days: the Mole shuts on Tuesdays, Venaria on Mondays.

What to book, and what can wait

Egyptian Museum: compulsory. Tickets are sold online only, for a date and time slot, and entry is guaranteed within 15 minutes of the slot start. Free visitors and Torino+Piemonte Card holders book too; there's no fast lane. Tickets can't be refunded or changed.

Mole Antonelliana: recommended. The Cinema Museum and the panoramic lift have separate tickets. At weekends, book at least a day ahead; if the lift is sold out, a small extra batch goes online the day before.

Palace of Venaria: recommended. You can buy on the spot, but the palace advises picking a day and time online. With the Tutto in una Reggia ticket, last entry is two hours before closing.

The Torino+Piemonte Card

Turin's official tourist pass costs €29.90 for 24 hours (up to three free entries), €39.90 for 48 hours and €45.90 for 72 hours. The holder and one child under 12 get in free at the Egyptian Museum, the Cinema Museum and Venaria; the Mole lift and the Venaria Express shuttle are discounted.

The weekend maths: Egyptian Museum €18, Cinema Museum €18, Tutto in una Reggia €25, so €61 at full price against €39.90 for the 48-hour card. That's a clear saving. It's poor value for young travellers, though: ages 15–18 and university students pay €3 at the Egyptian Museum, and none of these youth prices is limited to EU citizens. And the card doesn't replace booking: timed museums still need a slot.

How to split your days

Arriving at Porta Nuova station? The Egyptian Museum is a 10–15 minute walk, but leave your suitcase at the hotel first: the museum's cloakroom is currently suspended and large bags aren't allowed in.
