The Mole Antonelliana has two separate tickets: the National Cinema Museum (€18) and the glass panoramic lift to the 85-metre terrace (€9), or both for €23. Booking isn't compulsory, but at weekends book at least a day ahead, especially for the lift. The Mole is closed on Tuesdays.

Museum, lift or both

Inside the Mole there are two attractions with separate tickets.

Short on time and only after the view? Take the lift. With an afternoon free, the combined ticket costs only a little more than the museum alone, and the terrace makes a good finish.

Booking

The museum doesn't require booking but strongly recommends it, every day and above all at weekends and on holidays, at least a day in advance. The lift is the pinch point. If it shows sold out, check again the day before: the museum releases a small extra batch of lift tickets online then.

Your ticket is for a date and time, and the museum asks for punctuality; late arrivals aren't guaranteed entry. You can change the date yourself online, subject to availability, but not the ticket type. When the outdoor queue is long, staff may close it early so everyone gets in before closing time, so turning up in the last hour without a ticket is a gamble.

Official ticket or reseller

The official ticket is the cheapest way in. Reseller products add something else: Tiqets pairs the museum with a hop-on hop-off bus, and GetYourGuide and Tiqets sell guided tours of the museum and the Mole with the lift, useful if you care about the building as much as the films. The museum itself has a free audio guide in Italian, English and French that you download via a QR code by the ticket desk.

Climbing the dome

There's also a walk-up route to the terrace through the gap inside the dome. It runs only at fixed times: a guided visit at weekends and an escorted climb on some weekdays, and for individual visitors these are in Italian only. It's not allowed for children under 6 and not advised if you have mobility, heart or lung problems, vertigo or claustrophobia. It can be suspended in summer because of the heat.

Hours and getting there

Museum and lift open 9:00–19:00 every day except Tuesday. Last entry is at 18:00, and the last lift down leaves 10 minutes before closing. Over Christmas the hours extend to 21:00, and there are occasional extra closures; check the hours page before you go.

The museum visit takes 90 minutes to two hours, plus the lift and terrace. The entrance is at Via Montebello 20: about 20 minutes' walk from Porta Nuova station, 30 from Porta Susa, 10 from Piazza Castello and 15 from the Egyptian Museum, which makes the pair an easy one-day plan.

Torino+Piemonte Card and Abbonamento Musei holders get into the museum free but pay the reduced lift fare. Disabled visitors (over 67%, or with a European Disability Card) and a companion enter free, with priority access when collecting the ticket at the desk.
