Motor Valley: what to book

The three museums everyone asks about sit between Modena and Bologna, and each works differently.

• Ferrari (Maranello and Modena): no booking needed, the desk always sells. Prices are higher from May to September. For both museums, the Musei Ferrari Pass beats two single tickets, but you must use it within 48 hours.
• Lamborghini (Sant'Agata Bolognese): entry at your booked time, and lateness can cost you the visit. The production-line tour is extra and must be booked; no photos inside the factory.
• Ducati (Borgo Panigale, Bologna): online tickets only, closed on Wednesdays. To see the line running, pick a weekday: assembly stops at weekends.

How to group them: one day for Maranello and Modena, linked by a scheduled shuttle bus that also stops at Modena station; another for Lamborghini and Ducati, both in the province of Bologna. Without a car, Ducati is reachable from Bologna itself and Maranello by the train + bus shuttle from Modena; Lamborghini is easiest by car or on an organised tour. Pagani and the Dallara museum are also in the area but aren't covered in this guide yet.

The Riviera: check the calendar first

The parks between Ravenna and Cattolica are seasonal, so start by checking they're open.

• Aquafan is summer only (1 June–13 September in 2026).
• Mirabilandia ends its 2026 season with Halloween on Sunday 1 November.
• Oltremare, the Cattolica Aquarium and Italia in Miniatura open on fixed dates in autumn and winter: Halloween, some Sundays, the early-December holiday and Christmas.

Online is cheaper than the gate at all of them, and at Mirabilandia the gap is big. Doing more than one? Oltremare's official combos with the Cattolica Aquarium (€42) or Italia in Miniatura (€43) are worth a look.

Off the circuit

The Labirinto della Masone at Fontanellato, near Parma, closes on Tuesdays and sells timed slots that can run out at weekends, so buy online for Saturdays and Sundays. It pairs well with a day in Parma.

On free museum Sundays: none of these places is a state museum, so the first Sunday of the month is a normal paying day here.
