Reseller prices are refreshed daily; the final price is the one on the partner's site. Resellers cost more than the official ticket because they add availability, free cancellation or services.
One ticket covers almost everything
The standard ticket gets you the whole museum: the Leonardo da Vinci galleries with models of his machines, the space section, and the separate rail and air-and-sea pavilions with locomotives, planes, the Vega rocket and the Conte Biancamano ocean liner. The reduced €8 rate runs from age 3 to 26 and is not restricted to EU citizens, so international students pay it too. Carry ID.
If you hold the YesMilano City Pass, entry is included. There is also a €12 open-date Gift Museo ticket, valid one day of your choice within the year.
The Toti submarine: online only
The Toti submarine sits outside and you can see it for free with your ticket. Going inside is different:
- it is sold only online, only as a combined museum + Toti ticket (€23 full, €18 reduced), never at the desk;
- the minimum age is 6, and under-14s need an adult with a Toti ticket;
- from mid-September visits run only at weekends and on public holidays;
- the hatch is low and narrow and there are steep steps, so it isn't wheelchair-accessible and is a poor idea if you dislike tight spaces.
Bookings open in the last week of each month for the following month. If your trip is on a weekday in autumn or winter, the submarine is out.
Timing your visit
Weekdays close at 5 pm, weekends at 6:30 pm, with last entry an hour earlier. Allow three hours; the pavilions are spread across courtyards. The museum is shut on Mondays, except a few holiday Mondays (7 December and the week between Christmas and New Year this season).
Weekends are busy with Milanese families, which is why the museum asks you to buy online. Tiqets sells the plain entry ticket in English, handy if you keep everything in one app, but it doesn't include the Toti visit.
Getting there
Take metro M2 or M4 to Sant'Ambrogio; the entrance on Via San Vittore 21 is a few minutes on foot. From Milano Centrale it's a direct M2 ride towards Abbiategrasso. The museum sits inside Milan's Area C congestion zone, so skip the car.
FAQ
How much is the Milan Science Museum?
€13 full price and €8 reduced on the official site. The reduced rate covers ages 3 to 26, over-75s and groups of 10 or more, with ID. It is not limited to EU citizens.
Do I need to book the Milan Science Museum in advance?
Not on weekdays. At weekends the museum says entry is not guaranteed for visitors without an online ticket, so book a date and time.
Can I go inside the Toti submarine?
Yes, on a guided visit sold only online with museum entry: €23 full or €18 reduced in total. Minimum age 6, and since mid-September it runs at weekends and on public holidays only.
What are the opening hours?
Tuesday to Friday 9:30 am–5 pm; Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 9:30 am–6:30 pm. Last entry one hour before closing. Closed on Mondays (unless a holiday), 24–25 December and 1 January.
Is the museum free on the first Sunday of the month?
No. It is run by a foundation, not the state, so the Italian free-Sunday scheme doesn't apply. Free entry is for under-3s, disabled visitors with a companion and holders of the YesMilano City Pass or the Abbonamento Musei Lombardia card.
How do I get there from Milano Centrale?
Metro M2 towards Abbiategrasso to Sant'Ambrogio, no changes, then a short walk to Via San Vittore 21. M4 also stops at Sant'Ambrogio.
