Uffizi Gallery tickets

Florence · named ticket with a set entry time

An official Uffizi ticket costs €25 if you buy it on the day of your visit and €29 if you buy it on any earlier day; enter from 4 pm and it is €16. The gallery opens Tuesday to Sunday, 8:15 am to 6:30 pm, and is closed on Mondays. Booking is not compulsory, but in spring and summer the good morning slots go first and the walk-up queue gets long.

Which ticket is right for you

All tickets online

Reseller prices are refreshed daily; the final price is the one on the partner's site. Resellers cost more than the official ticket because they add availability, free cancellation or services.

How the official ticket works

Uffizi tickets are issued in your name with an entry time. There are three official ways to buy: tickets.uffizi.it, the call centre, and the ticket office under the loggia in the Piazzale degli Uffizi, the long courtyard between Piazza della Signoria and the river.

The price depends on when you buy. On the day of your visit it's €25. Buy it a day or more ahead and it's €29. That €4 is what certainty costs: you know your slot before you fly. If you're in Florence in quieter months and don't mind entering at opening time or late in the day, buying on the morning itself is the cheaper option.

Then there is the "Afternoon" rate: enter from 4 pm and you pay €16 (€20 if bought ahead). Last entry is 5:30 pm and the rooms close at 6:30 pm, so you get roughly two and a half hours. That covers the Botticelli and Leonardo rooms on the second floor and part of the first floor, not everything.

Bring ID. Under-18s go free regardless of nationality but need to show a document. The €2 reduced ticket for 18–25-year-olds is for EU citizens and a handful of reciprocity countries, so most American, British, Canadian and Australian adults pay full price.

Official site or a reseller

The official site is cheaper. Tiqets, GetYourGuide and Headout sell the same entry for more, and the extra is only worth it if you need what they add:

Vasari Corridor and the 5-day pass

The Vasari Corridor, the covered walkway that runs from the Uffizi over the Ponte Vecchio to the Pitti Palace, can only be visited with a booking, no exceptions. Uffizi plus Corridor costs €43 on the day or €47 in advance. The ticket lets you into the Uffizi 2 hours before your Corridor slot, because it's one-way: once you're in the Corridor you can't go back to the gallery, and you come out in the Boboli Gardens across the river. The Corridor walk takes about 45 minutes in a group. Keep your coat with you.

The PassePartout 5 Days costs €40 (€58 with the Corridor). It gives one entry each to the Uffizi, the Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens within five consecutive days. You book a time only for the Uffizi, which has to be the first museum you visit; Pitti and Boboli you can do whenever you like afterwards.

Timing and practical tips

Doors open at 8:15 am. The first hour and the last are the calmest; late morning is when the Botticelli rooms fill up shoulder to shoulder.

On the first Sunday of every month entry is free, but no bookings are accepted and priority access is suspended except for disabled visitors and pregnant women. Unless saving the ticket price matters more than your morning, skip that day.

Big backpacks, bags and umbrellas go in the free cloakroom just past the entrance. Your ticket is good for one entry only: leave and you can't come back in. There's a café with a terrace on the second floor if you need a break without exiting.

From Santa Maria Novella station it's a straightforward walk through the centre via the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria. The entrance is under the loggia of the Uffizi courtyard, next to Palazzo Vecchio.

FAQ

How much are Uffizi tickets?

A full ticket is €25 if bought on the day of the visit and €29 if bought on an earlier day. The "Afternoon" rate for entry from 4 pm is €16 (€20 if bought in advance). EU citizens aged 18–25 pay €2; under-18s of any nationality go free.

What are the Uffizi Gallery opening hours?

Tuesday to Sunday, 8:15 am to 6:30 pm, last entry 5:30 pm. Closed every Monday, on 1 January and 25 December.

Do I need to book the Uffizi in advance?

It isn't required: you can buy a same-day ticket at the ticket office under the loggia or online on the morning. But popular time slots sell out in high season, so book if your dates are fixed. The Vasari Corridor always needs a booking.

Is the Uffizi free on the first Sunday of the month?

Yes, for everyone. You cannot book: you queue and collect a free ticket at the entrance. Expect a long line.

How long does a visit to the Uffizi take?

The gallery itself names 2 hours as the minimum. Two and a half to three hours is comfortable if you want both floors.

Do non-EU visitors get a discount?

Only under-18s, who enter free with ID. The €2 reduced ticket for ages 18–25 is for EU citizens and a few reciprocity countries (Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Uruguay); other adults pay the full price.

Is the PassePartout 5 Days worth it?

At €40 it covers one entry each to the Uffizi, the Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens over five consecutive days. If you visit all three, it costs less than buying the tickets separately.
