Firenze Card & Florence city passes
Firenzecard, official combo tickets and reseller passes compared
The Firenzecard costs €85, runs for 72 hours from your first museum entry and gets you into each museum in the circuit once, exhibitions and bookings included. It only pays off if you visit five or more paid museums in three days, Uffizi and Accademia among them. The Duomo, dome and bell tower are not included.

What €85 buys
The Firenzecard is the City of Florence's official museum pass. It costs €85, activates at your first museum entry and lasts 72 hours from that moment. You get one entry to each museum in the circuit, with permanent collections, temporary exhibitions and booking fees covered. Buy it online and you receive a voucher by email: load it into the app or swap it for a physical card at a pick-up point. It's in your name and can't be passed on.
The circuit includes the big state museums (Uffizi, Accademia, Pitti Palace, Boboli, Bargello, Medici Chapels, San Marco), Palazzo Vecchio and its Arnolfo Tower, and many more: Santa Croce, San Lorenzo, Santa Maria Novella, Palazzo Strozzi, Casa Buonarroti, the Galileo Museum. What it doesn't cover is the Duomo complex: no dome climb, no bell tower, no baptistery.
The honest maths
Take the three museums nearly everyone wants, at official prices with a reservation:
- Uffizi, bought in advance: €29
- Accademia: €20 + €4 booking fee
- Pitti Palace, bought in advance: €19
That's €72. Add the Bargello (€12) and you're at €84. So the card breaks even at four museums and saves money from the fifth. Fewer than that in three days and you're overpaying.
Who should skip it: anyone under 18 (state museums are already free for them) and EU citizens aged 18–25, who pay €2 a time at state museums. And if you're in Florence on the first Sunday of the month, state museums are free for everyone. Note that the €2 rate is for EU citizens only; an American or British 22-year-old pays full price and should do the adult maths above.
Cheaper official combos
Often the smarter buy is two official combo tickets:
- Uffizi PassePartout, 5 days, €40: Uffizi, Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens, one entry each with priority access.
- Accademia–Bargello 72-hour ticket, €38: Accademia, Bargello, Medici Chapels, Orsanmichele and Palazzo Davanzati.
- Accademia–Bargello 48-hour ticket, €26: just the two.
PassePartout plus the 72-hour ticket comes to €78 for eight entries spread over five days instead of three. They don't cover Palazzo Vecchio, Santa Croce or Palazzo Strozzi; if those are on your list, the Firenzecard comes back into play.
Reseller passes
Tiqets, GetYourGuide and Headout sell other passes: the "Florence Pass", city passes with Uffizi and Accademia, Pitti and Boboli passes, Duomo complex passes. They are bundles of tickets, not the Firenzecard (though GetYourGuide also resells the Firenzecard itself). Before buying, check which museums are really in it, whether Uffizi and Accademia entries come with a booked time, and whether the Duomo monuments are included, since the Firenzecard leaves them out.
Booking with the card
Even with a Firenzecard you must reserve the Uffizi, Accademia, Palazzo Vecchio, Arnolfo Tower, Brancacci Chapel and Palazzo Medici Riccardi. It's free, but compulsory, children included. The Vasari Corridor isn't covered; cardholders can add it for €20. In high season, book the Accademia before you fly.
FAQ
How much is the Firenze Card?
€85. It's valid for 72 hours from the first museum entry, not from purchase. Firenzecard Restart (€28, digital only) adds 48 more hours after it expires.
Does the Firenze Card include the Duomo and Brunelleschi's dome?
No. The cathedral monuments (dome, bell tower, baptistery) aren't in the Firenzecard museum list; you need separate Duomo tickets.
Does the Firenze Card skip the line at the Uffizi and Accademia?
It gets you priority entry, but you still have to make a free reservation for both. At the Accademia, slots set aside for cardholders are limited.
Is the Firenze Card worth it for students?
Rarely. EU citizens aged 18–25 pay €2 at state museums, and under-18s of any nationality enter state museums free. Non-EU students pay full price, so for them the maths is the same as for any adult.
Can children use my Firenze Card?
Under-18s in the cardholder's family get in free with you, but they must be included in any compulsory booking.
Is the Florence Pass the same as the Firenze Card?
No. The Firenzecard is the city's official pass. The "Florence Pass" and similar city passes are reseller bundles; check exactly which museums and timed entries they include.
