Bargello Museum tickets
Donatello, Michelangelo, Cellini · Via del Proconsolo 4, Florence
A full ticket to the Bargello National Museum costs €12. Reserving a time slot is optional and costs €4; unlike the Accademia, where the museum strongly urges booking, here you can simply buy at the desk. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 8:15 am to 6:50 pm, closed on Mondays.

Reseller prices are refreshed daily; the final price is the one on the partner's site. Resellers cost more than the official ticket because they add availability, free cancellation or services.
What you pay, and the combo that actually saves money
One standard ticket: €12. If you read €10 somewhere, that's the old price from before February. The €2 reduced ticket is only for EU citizens aged 18–25, so a British or American student pays the full €12. Under-18s of any nationality get in free, as at every Italian state museum. Bring ID either way.
The Bargello now belongs to the same museum group as the Accademia, and that matters for your wallet:
- 48 hours, €26: Accademia + Bargello. Separately that's €20 + €12, so you save €6.
- 72 hours, €38: every open museum in the group: Accademia, Bargello, Medici Chapels, Orsanmichele and Palazzo Davanzati. Good value if you want both the David and Michelangelo's Medici tombs.
Booking: optional
The €4 reservation is optional: you can buy at the desk on the day. Book only if you need a fixed time, say between an Uffizi slot and a train. The official sellers are B-Ticket online and the Firenze Musei phone line (+39 055 294883); every other site is a reseller.
Resellers like Tiqets, GetYourGuide and Headout charge more. Pay it if you want free cancellation, or a guided tour. This is a museum where context helps: without it, it's a lot of marble in a row. A guide will point out, for instance, Brunelleschi's Sacrifice of Isaac panel in Donatello's hall.
Free Sundays and practical traps
Entry is free on the first Sunday of each month and on 25 April, 2 June and 4 November. There's no booking on those days; you queue on Via del Proconsolo.
Last entry is 6:10 pm, 40 minutes before closing. Large bags go to the free cloakroom, and suitcases aren't accepted at all, so don't come straight from the station with luggage.
What not to miss
The courtyard covered in podestà coats of arms, Donatello's bronze David and St George in the Donatello hall, Michelangelo's Bacchus, Cellini's busts and the small bronzes. In the Chapel of St Mary Magdalene, look for the portrait of Dante at the foot of the Paradise fresco by Giotto and his workshop.
The rooms are step-free via ramps and a lift, except the chapel, the sacristy and the small bronzes room. The museum is a short walk from Piazza della Signoria, so it pairs neatly with a morning at the Uffizi.
