Reseller prices are refreshed daily; the final price is the one on the partner's site. Resellers cost more than the official ticket because they add availability, free cancellation or services.
How the booking works
The rules exist to protect Giotto's frescoes. Visitors go in groups of up to 25 every 15 minutes. First you spend 15 minutes in a climate-control room in front of the chapel while the air settles, then you get 15 minutes inside. The doors open only once each way.
Advance booking is compulsory and tickets are non-refundable. Book online through the official Vivaticket page or the call centre up to the day before; same-day bookings aren't taken. If you turn up in Padua without a ticket, your only option is to ask at the desk whether a slot still has room.
Two things that trip people up:
- The ticket office isn't at the chapel. It's at the entrance of the Eremitani Civic Museums, Piazza Eremitani 8, about 100 m away. The museum asks individual visitors to arrive 30 minutes early, groups 45.
- Late means lost. You must be at the entrance to the climate-control room 5 minutes before your slot. Miss it and you have to buy another slot and pay again.
Bags, backpacks, food and drink stay in the cloakroom or lockers (44 × 31 × 46 cm); suitcases aren't allowed in the museum. If you're coming straight from the station with luggage, drop it somewhere first. Photos are allowed without flash, tripods or other equipment.
Prices
- Full €15 + €1 booking fee, Tuesday to Sunday, including the Eremitani Museums and Palazzo Zuckermann.
- Reduced €11 + €1: groups of 10+, EU citizens over 65, association members. On non-holiday Mondays, when Palazzo Zuckermann is closed, every individual visitor pays €11.
- Youth and students €6 + €1: ages 6–17 and university students, including over-26s.
- €0 + €1: children up to 5, disabled visitors and a companion, ICOM members.
The evening visit, from 25 March to 1 November, runs every 20 minutes from 7pm to 10pm, chapel only, at €9 + €1.
Staying two or three days? The Urbs Picta Card costs €28 for 48 hours or €35 for 72 hours including buses and trams, with one entry to eight sites of Padua's 14th-century fresco cycles, among them the chapel, Palazzo della Ragione and the Basilica of St Anthony.
Official ticket or reseller
GetYourGuide sells guided tours, audio-guide entries and Padua walking tours that include the chapel. They cost more than the official ticket, but they answer the real Scrovegni problem: finding a free slot on the day you want. Fifteen minutes inside isn't long, so a guide usually does the explaining beforehand and you go in knowing where to look.
